“I stayed on a luxury cruise and my 200 square foot cabin shocked me” | Cruise | Journey

A cruise traveler was surprised after discovering her luxury cabin had a very clear highlight that made her stay more comfortable.

Elizabeth Wright shared her experience on Cruise.blog, after embarking on a three-night stay aboard Princess Cruises’ new ship Sun Princess.

The Sun Princess, launched in February 2024, spent its first season in Europe before crossing the Atlantic to the Caribbean.

With a capacity for more than 4,000 guests, the 177,882 gross ton ship is the first of its kind, and will soon be joined by the Star Princess in late 2025.

Wright noted that the ship features unique amenities, including being the first in Princess’s fleet to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).

On board, she discovered dining options such as the cruise line’s first Teppanyaki restaurant, Umai, and a magical dining experience called Spellbound.

She also mentioned Love by Britto, Princess’s first art-inspired culinary venture.

A notable feature of the ship is the Dome, a stunning glass-enclosed space that transforms from a daytime relaxation space to an immersive entertainment venue at night.

However, among all the amenities of her lavish stay, Wright was particularly impressed by her cabin’s balcony, which she described as “about four times larger than traditional balconies,” allowing for more spacious outdoor seating.

With approximately 200 square feet of interior space and more than 70 square feet of balcony, the writer felt like her cabin was like a comfortable suite rather than a standard room.

At the end of her stay, she credited Sun Princess with setting a “new standard” for a cruise experience, highlighted by being named the No. 1 Mega Cruise at the recent Condé Nast Traveler 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards. .

Wright also highlighted the variety of packages Princess offers, noting that for just $60 (£46) per day, guests can enjoy multiple perks including drinks, Wi-Fi and special meals.

This pricing strategy improves the overall cruise experience without straining passengers’ budgets.
