The essentials

A day in the life of an average office worker:

  • Getting to work. Send a snapshot of the crowded train to a friend
  • Browse Reddit. Laugh at cats in r/pics
  • Google information on why orange cats are so bad
  • Watch a YouTube video compilation of cats knocking over vases
  • Arrive at work. Secretly Continue Browsing Social Media

These behaviors are so ingrained in most of us that they are almost automatic and essential.

It is therefore not surprising that the companies behind these services – Instant, Reddit And Alphabet – reported third-quarter results that beat Wall Street expectations.

Their income, in particular, is a positive point. For its third quarter, Alphabet’s advertising revenue increased 10.4% year-over-year. Although Snap and Reddit haven’t released a specific report on their advertising revenue, it appears that both companies are doing equally well in this area.

Judging by the amount of time I spend on Meta-owned Instagram and the ads that seem to know exactly what I want, the company’s ad revenue will likely see healthy growth as well.
